Ruth Annett

Ruth is currently studying for an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London, having completed an undergraduate degree in Sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts in 2012. Her creative and research practice explores the role of visual culture in identity discourses, with a special focus on Irish and North American cultures. This includes an interest in the contemporary role of myth and archetype in film, and the use of signifiers in evolving expressions of cultural identity in Northern Ireland.

As a contributor to The Future State, Ruth is currently working on the up coming Practicing Ireland project, a web-series formed of interviews with culture-makers who are engaging with Ireland, globally or locally, in the contemporary moment.
